WisTech is Wisconsin's assistive technology program funded under the AT Act of 1998, as amended.

WisTech provides information on selecting, funding, installing and using assistive technology.

Assistive technology (AT) is any product or device that enables people with disabilities to improve their independence and quality of life in the community, at home, at work, and at school.

AT items include commercially-made equipment, custom-made devices or common products that have been modified to serve a specific need.

WisTech is funded to provide:

Four State Level activities:

  1. Device Loan

  2. Device Demonstration

  3. Device Reutilization

  4. Alternative Financing

State Leadership activities such as training, technical assistance, public awareness, collaboration and coordination, and data reporting and collection.

WisTech uses its three-year State Plan for Assistive Technology (PDF, 115 KB) to communicate its goals and plans to the citizens of Wisconsin and the federal Rehabilitation Services Administration.

WisTech is administered by the Office of Independence and Employment, a unit of the Department of Health and Family Services, Division of Disability and Elder Services.
